Highlight your key selling points

We’ve mentioned this before, but you only have 7 seconds to attract a user’s attention before they click off and go elsewhere. So, you need to use your 7 seconds carefully and make sure your messaging is concise, informative and eye-catching – once you’ve caught someone’s attention, you can then provide them with more information.

Clear and concise CTAs

The point of having a landing page is to receive a conversion, so ideally you need to have one main CTA (call to action) on the page and it needs to be clear and recognisable. Whatever you decide your CTA to be, whether it’s to purchase an item, sign up to a newsletter, make an enquiry or get a quote, it doesn’t matter, but it needs to be clearly and boldly displayed on the page at all times.

Content to match the Ad

This might seem like an obvious point, but too many times we’ve seen an Ad appear on Google, only to click on it to discover it barely relates to the landing page. With this in mind, whatever your Ad is selling, you need to make sure it’s apparent on the landing page and it matches what you’re advertising. An added benefit here is the more relevant the landing page is to the keyword and Ad being searched for in Google, the lower your cost per click is likely to be.

Slow = High

Slow landing pages = high bounce rate and this is not good. It’s important to make sure your landing page doesn’t take ages to load, more often than not, the reason for high bounce rates is because humans get bored. If the page doesn’t load instantaneously, then the chances are your user is a goner. Simple tips such as reducing file sizes might just be the answer to speeding things up!

Short and sweet

Keep it to the point, if you need a contact form filled in, don’t make it long-winded, this works in conjunction with the above point, users will get bored very quickly, so the contact form needs to be simple and to the point. Only ask what you need to know.

Offer some credibility

People love to see the evidence, if they’re buying into something, chances are they’re going to research it. In our testimonials article, we discuss how much consumers value reviews. Adding a testimonial to your landing page is a very valuable method of offering some proof to potential customers – even better if it’s a video testimonial. You could also mention awards, accreditations or anything else that underpins and adds credibility to your brand.

These are just a few points to consider when trying to grow your conversions, working in conjunction with SEO and a great website, you have a recipe for success. For more information, get in touch with us!
