We manage our own hosting platform and therefore offer an enhanced level of support and service, meaning that clients know we are in a position to provide a quick and efficient response in case of issues.
However, we’ve had a number of examples where we’ve actually taken on sites from incumbent agencies and hosting providers, and I thought it’d be interesting to share an example.
Several years ago, we were asked to prepare an audit for a property / leisure management company. They operated 18 websites for their brand, and the hosting and development of those various websites was split between four incumbent agencies.
As part of the review process, we analysed all of their current and projected costs, as well as identifying issues that were causing them frustration within their business. The main issues were account managers and the marketing team at the client not knowing which agency was responsible for sites, as well as a lack of clarity about who was responsible in case of an issue.
We prepared a plan to get all of the websites moved to a single, virtualised server, which would be dedicated for this particular client’s use. We then project-managed the movement of all of their websites to the new hosting platform, and provided on-going support.
What this meant for the client is, whatever the issue, whether a site is down or they need to make a change, they had a single point of email and telephone contact. In addition, we saved them tens of thousands of pounds over the years, compared to what they were paying when we took them on.
With many businesses looking at cost savings during the current Coronavirus lockdown, now could be the perfect time to start thinking about ensuring your set-up is as efficient as it can be. So – are you in charge of a number of disparate sites, or is your organisation struggling to manage multiple agencies and service providers? Let’s have a chat and see if we can help in the same way!
