Increasing your sales through online presence
So, there are several aspects you need to take into account for your online presence to reach its full potential. The first aspect is commitment. As a business you need to do everything you can to generate leads. If you are not proactively retargeting existing customers you will not retain them. Unfortunately, the competitive business world today, means your competitors will try and answer to your existing customer’s needs if you are failing to. You should always be on the hunt for new opportunities online that can generate leads that will draw in new prospective clients. So realistically, how are you going to achieve this? PRIORITISE your online presence!
The vast majority of all articles I construct I always manage to include how important valuable engaging content is. So I won’t bore you with what you already know. But of course the bottom-line is for your online presence to be successful you need good content! Businesses spending money telling their story, and opting for the sales enablement content approach fail to educate their prospective clients. If you fail to find that balance, which includes the features and functional aspects of your business you are not optimising your online presence effectively. A little bit wordey? What I mean is educating them on what their options are and what they can consider when they do their research.
The engagement debate is very controversial in terms of improving your online presence. Marketers see both sides of the coin which can spark interesting views. It’s the same story that happens a lot on social media nowadays specifically Twitter, you get a new follower that has 25,000 followers but also follows 25,000 people… Will they contribute anything to you and your business in terms of your online presence if you follow them back? The power of association is incredible. If you associate with great people and brands you can learn from them and more people will notice you. The trick is assessing who is powerful and what they can contribute to your business through their content. Read my article on learning from others to utilise your online presence to understand what I mean. My top tip with engagement is find a balance that will work towards your business goals and engage your audience, but not lead towards a negative ROI (return on investment) that takes the marketing eye off the important goal of sale.
For your online presence to be successful you need to take two important factors into account. First impressions are extremely important in marketing, you need to ensure when someone arrives on your online platforms they see something which gives a great account of you and your business and positions you in their mind as a professional. On your online platforms never say one thing and do something else that is contradictory. Mixed messages create confusion which is the fastest way to put off your prospective clients.
