Hi I'm Will
What can I say… I may not have those valuable 20 years’ experience that a lot of marketers have, but we all write that initial post from different starting positions. It’s a bit early to let the deep quotes fly, but I can’t stop myself: blogging is like everything in life - regardless of where we start, we have the opportunity to determine where we finish!

How did I get into Marketing? Well that is a pretty interesting story in the sense that I started university doing business information technology. Of course it was that situation where the boy makes a rash panic decision “oh yeah I liked information technology in school that will do”. Within two weeks I made most probably one of the best decisions of my life and decided enough was enough. So that’s that, I took a year out to gather my thoughts and within a few weeks of being home I stumbled across a job doing marketing for a portable floodlights company. I won’t bore you with dates nobody cares about that sort of thing. So re-applying for university I realised that marketing was a hidden forte of mine, I felt like I was in my element.
Last academic year was where the journey began, my first year at Bournemouth University studying Marketing Communications. What did first year teach me apart from the effects of a bottle of vodka? Of course like the vast majority of all first year students I definitely didn’t spend my year in a library looking at different aspects of marketing. But what I did discover was an inner passion to succeed. My first ever assignment was a case study looking at how marketing could improve Hotel Chocolat. Damn, I think to this day I could still list half their stock. I dedicated hours on that project and it paid off getting me a first. My first year was a very broad perspective of marketing, I focussed on the economics and politics side of business complemented by the psychological side. All thoroughly enjoyable, but nothing that I could really see myself doing at a later date by choice.
So here I am working at Studio44. Over the next couple of months I will be raising the profile of their social media platforms. Using primarily Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Of course this will also be complemented by engaging audiences on my perspective of marketing, business development and website design covering a diverse range of topics. The main objective of the blog is not only to engage, but to help you and your business grow. If you have any questions or queries then feel free to get in touch!
