"We had outgrown our previous website and needed a new platform to engage a wider audience and develop a more user-friendly site which would encourage support and generate new avenues of charitable income.

Before the new site was built, we noticed that our previous site had been hacked, luckily we had Studio 44 to resolve this issue immediately and save the day.

The new website looks amazing and we deeply appreciate all of the team who worked on the project, especially as the work was undertaken on a pro-bono basis for the good of the charity.

We now feel confident and secure in the knowledge that the professional team at Studio 44 will host and manage the new site with our best interests at heart.

We can’t recommend Studio 44 highly enough, their tag line Design, Develop, Evolve certainly sums up their expertise and professional services perfectly!" Suzi Mitchell, Founder/CEO Taylor Made Dreams

Background

Taylor Made dreams are a fantastic local charity who work to enable children with life limiting illnesses to achieve their dreams. They help children write and achieve a ‘bucket list’ of things they would like to do.

Objectives

Taylor Made Dreams had a website built on WordPress that was not supporting them in the way they needed it to, it was visually outdated and difficult to manage and update. It had also had multiple security problems which can happen with WordPress websites. We were thrilled to be able to develop a new site for them that would modernise their look and feel and allow for easy updates using our bespoke Content Management System. Additional objectives included:

  • Promoting the work Taylor Made Dreams do and growing awareness of the charity
  • Gathering more support in the form of corporate partners, donations and volunteers
  • Supporting campaigns and events run by Taylor Made Dreams

The Project

There were a few key areas of functionality within the website that we chose to help achieve the Taylor Made Dreams objectives. These included:

  • A prominent news section which is a great place for Taylor Made Dreams to promote their work and demonstrate to supporters how they can help.
  • Prominent video content on the homepage which offers an insight into the type of experiences Taylor Made Dreams can help achieve.
  • An events section for Taylor Made Dreams to promote various campaigns and events they run.
  • A supporters area of their website where Taylor Made Dreams can promote their corporate partners.
  • A donation page which offers a range of options for those who want to donate and support the charity.

The Result

We’re thrilled with the end result – the website looks great, works well on all devices and achieves a perfect 100 score on Google’s Page Speed Insights tool! We asked Alex and Francois who worked on the project for their favourite feature:

Francois said “My favourite aspect is the overall design including the friendly, strong, stable use of the Montserrat font which combined with the purple gives a real impact without being corporate. I’m also pleased with the use of the colours with purple used as the complimentary colour throughout the site, keeping everything on brand by using only the colours in the logo.” He continued “I think the donate section is great – there are a broad range of options but the page is straightforward and options are easy to pick.”

Alex had a similar view on the donations page “For me, my favourite feature on the site is the user friendly donations page. It displays the many ways you can donate which is a key part of the site. The tabs are all fully responsive so mobile users will benefit from this redesign too!” He went on to say “And of course as a front-end developer it’s my job to make the site as fast as it can be so achieving a perfect score from Google’s Page Speed Insights when we know the importance is something I’m really proud of.”

We’re looking forward to supporting Taylor Made Dreams moving forwards and are delighted to be able to work with such a wonderful local charity that makes such a difference.
