Case Study – Smart Office Solution
Website: smartofficegroup.com
Smart Office Solution Ltd is a leading independent supplier in the printing industry, providing a complete set of print solutions on a national scale.
They approached us to identify how their website could be improved to support a number of key business objectives. There was a need to improve the presentation of their offering, maintaining a general appeal to all business sectors, and to generate new leads and enquiries.
The old website had several limitations. Many visual elements failed to load unless the user had installed Adobe Flash1. The site structure was overly complex, making it difficult for potential customers to gain a clear understanding of their whole range of printing solutions. It was clear that these points alone warranted the commission of a complete redesign.
Strategy
The website design needed to focus attention to their key offerings, with a special emphasis to be placed on gearing customers to complete a number of ‘buying actions’ through all pages of the website.
This is largely achieved through dominant placement2 of the left-hand navigation & top bar. Not only does this consistent structure make the website a pleasure to browse, it incorporates subtle prompts such as “CALL TODAY” or “MAKE AN ENQUIRY” with a particularly efficient use of space.
Coding the website in a manner that ensures compliance with Google’s mobile-friendly standard will also go some way in improving their position in search results.
Another useful feature allows for payments to be taken over the website, thanks to integration with PayPal.
