A year in the life of Studio44
Moving Offices
If you follow us on Facebook or have checked out our website, you’ll be aware we’ve made the move to our new offices. Whilst we haven’t travelled far, we love our new office. With a fresh, open plan vibe, we think our work ethic has improved and we’ve had endless great feedback from clients. If you want a recap, check out the office move video here.
#GirlPower
Now if you’re a long-standing Studio44 client you may be aware of the male-dominated office, however, with the arrival of me and Laura this year, we’ve really helped to bring up the numbers in 2017. We might also add that whilst the boys complain, deep down, they secretly enjoy the ‘Independent Women’ playlist that Laura and I regularly play off the speakers for them!

Westleton Drake Football
Back in May, the boys took part in the Westleton Drake Charity football day. Not only was it a great day out, it was brilliant to support the charity Wheels for Wellbeing. Another particular highlight, and now a regular anecdote in the office was Laura who didn’t quite realise the live video would be on front facing camera … this still provides amusement in the office to this very day. Check it out here.
Staff BBQ
During the summer, we had our annual staff BBQ, a great opportunity for all of us to get together outside of work, have a drink or two (or more...) catch up and celebrate the year we’d had so far. For me, this was the first time I met the team, but with BBQ antics including throwing Larry in the hot tub, fully clothed, I think it was pretty clear they’d be an ok bunch to work with.
Kent Digital Awards
Back in June, we won two awards at the Kent Digital Awards, our work with Airberg won us the silver award in the E-commerce category and furthering this we won ‘Best Marketing and Creative Website’ with our own site – a great achievement and an amazing night enjoyed by all.
Golf Day
In September we held our annual Studio44 and Ellenor Charity Golf Day, check out the review here. The day was an enjoyable one, raising money for charity and enjoying the golf and auction!

Club Awards
Earlier this month Larry, Doug and James attended the Club Awards up in Doncaster. This is an annual event, run by the wonderful team at Club Mirror and it was our sixth time attending the event as sponsors. We presented the ‘website of the year’ award to the best club website and congratulations go to the Phoenix Artist Club who won the award. Larry presented the award, and there’s some great footage of him on stage…
Moving on up
We’ve had some really exciting times this year, between us we’ve had 4 engagements, 2 new homeowners and one wedding! With all this, some huge congratulations are in order for Alex, James, Francois and Larry on the engagements, for Laura and Nanda on becoming homeowners, and Doug for getting married! With such positive news this year we can only hope that 2018 continues to bring as much happiness!
A final, record-breaking note!
This year brought us a record-breaking month; in September we launched the most websites we have ever launched in a month before, this included the likes of Evoke, Phab, and Goody Bag. We really hope to continue this success in 2018, if you think we could help, feel free to get in touch – we’re always here for a chat!
